police station or court. And to assist them by coordinating with
various organizations working towards justice.
Case Work The Public
Welfare Department (DPW) in Phuket is under funded and its resources
are stretched to the limit. It has always been the aim of CWP to
work together with DPW in the investigation of abuse and the follow
up of individual cases.
One problem is that we have been unable to persuade qualified and
experienced social workers to come to help us in Phuket. We can't
compete with Bangkok salaries and the Phuket cost of living is high.
